Whiskey Bar is a Rock & Roll inspired cocktail venue that serves up some of downtown Boise’s best classic and creatively inspired drinks. And while they lean towards brown spirits, (200-ish whiskeys behind the bar), you can still find 44º North® in the mix. In this episode of Farm to Glass Cocktails, Mixologist Chris Bailey creates for us the Beatles inspired—Strawberry Fields.
The Strawberry Fields
- 1.5 oz 44º North® Magic Valley Wheat Vodka
- .25 oz Strawberry Puree
- 3 Dashes Rhubarb Bitters
- 1/2 Fresh Squeezed Lemon
- .5 oz Simple Syrup
- Muddle it all
- Add Ice to Shaker
- Strain into Jar with Ice and Lemon Slices
- Spritz with Sprite
- Add Straws, Basil and Strawberry for Garnish
Asking for a strawberry drink in a serious whiskey bar can take some courage. There just aren’t that many classics which call for this fresh fruit; but we’re here to tell you that the strawberry is the perfect complement to your cocktail, adding a sweet multidimensional burst of flavor. Bailey’s concoction combines the acidity of the fresh squeezed lemon and the sugary-sweet finish of the strawberry with the full-bodied flavor of 44º North® Magic Valley Wheat Vodka. The result? An incredibly crisp, easy to drink cocktail.
